About
Why Happy Parents?
We have two lively young children (4 and 6) who are constantly challenging us and our parenting skills - or lack of them. Most friends and relatives will only put up with so much whinging, and parenting books are too static. So we figured we needed another way to link in with others and find some support. Having a blog allows us to whine as much as we want under the guise of giving others tips they might be able to use.

It is extremely powerful when you interact with others who understand what you’re going through and this helps to normalise a lot of behaviours that otherwise might send you off to the child psychologist or paediatrician (or have you admitting yourself to a psychiatric ward). Hopefully this site can be a forum for sharing experiences, recipes and parenting tips.
We both come from health backgrounds and live in New South Wales, Australia. We’re interested in being decent parents and enjoying this role as much as is possible. There are days I spend with our daughters that are wonderful and fun and easy, contrasted with times I would happily run from the house and never return! It would be great if someone has tips on how to motivate and influence children without nagging or yelling!
